The truth behind chameleon paint

Of the many creatures god has sent to roam in this earth, the chameleon is the strangest. I am sure that a lot of people are going to agree with me on this. The chameleon is considered as a very strange animal because it can change the color of its body. Such nature of the creature has introduced the term ‘chameleon’ for anything that can change color.

Changing color for a living object may be easy. But for any object that does not have a biological existence is simply impossible. Yes, I am talking about machine and such objects. Yet many of us have seen cars changing colors while being driven through the road. A car cannot change color on it’s own.  How is this possible then? The answer to this lies within the paint that is used. The change of colors is a result of auto paint. The nature of the paint has earned it the name of car paint.

A paint of such nature is really a automotive paint. It allows the owner to make his vehicle one of a kind. Most of the vehicles that are driven through the road today bear a single color. The chameleon paint, on the other hand, allows a vehicle to have multiple colors. It provides a completely unique look for your car that makes it stand apart from the rest.

What is the true secret behind chameleon paints? Well, such paints have already been in the market for more than a decade. But there is a common misconception among people about the paint. People who know about the paint often fail to use it properly. I have seen some of my neighbors use the paint on their cars. When they failed to get the look they were expecting, they begin blaming the paint. Chameleon paints are a little different compared to the regular paints. It uses special pearl pigments. These pigments help the paint to achieve radical color changes. The change of the color, however, does not occur in reality. The chameleon paint allows the viewer to perceive different shades from different viewing angles. That is why we often see vehicles changing colors when they are being driven on the road. The difference in distance results in difference in viewing angles. The difference of viewing angles results in viewers identifying a wide range of different colors for one vehicle.

The chameleon paint is not a single paint. People often mistake chameleon paints as a single paint. It is in fact, a combination of multiple layers. A chameleon paint vehicle is typically a result of a tri-coat paint job. Initially, a base coat is provided to the vehicle. The base coat is mostly dark in color. Then, the chameleon paint is added as the mid coat. Finally, a clear coat top layer is provided for the vehicle. The dark color is used in the base coat to allow absorption of light on a maximum level that allows the chameleon paint to display radical color changes when light is reflected.
